The Centro Studi sul Teatro Classico operates within the University of Turin to promote the study and the scientific dissemination of ancient Greek and Latin drama; the Centre is the result of the collaboration of Professors, Researchers, Ph.D students and professionals of theatre led by Professor Francesco Carpanelli, professor of Greek-Roman Theater at the University of Turin; the organization and the secretary are curated by Dr. Luca Austa (University of Turin and Siena).
The Centre aims to establish a new national and international pole for studies in classical antiquity, especially those relating to the literary, historical, anthropological, philological and theatrical aspects of the great ancient dramatic tradition.
To achieve this ambitious goal, the Centro Studi sul Teatro Classico collaborates with Professors and Researchers of Italian and foreign universities who wish to contribute to publications and initiatives of study and scientific dissemination promoted by the Centre.

The Centro Studi sul Teatro Classico (Centre for Studies on Classic Theatre) has scheduled for November 2018 its second academic conference for Professors, Young Researchers and Ph.D. Students of Humanities. The conference The Forgotten Theatre aims at revitalizing the scientific interest in dramatic Greek and Latin texts, both transmitted and fragmentary, which have been long confined in restricted areas of scientific research and limited to few modern staging.
The conference will host academics - Professors, Young Researchers and Ph.D. Students – who wish to contribute in cast new light on the forgotten theatre through their studies, reflections and experiences.

The Centro Studi sul Teatro Classico of the University of Turin, in collaboration with the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg and the Heidelberger Akademie der Wissenschaften, promotes a cycle of workshops in ancient fragmentary drama (Greek and Latin) dedicated to Professors, Researchers and Ph.D. students of Italian and foreign universities.
The workshops, organised in three research days, will be held at the University of Turin from October 2018. The papers considered deserving, at the discretion of the Scientific Committee, will be published in the third volume of the scientific series Frammenti sulla Scena. Studies in Ancient Fragmentary Drama directed by Prof. Francesco Carpanelli.
The Centro Studi sul Teatro Classico will issue a certificate of participation to all those who will request it (to the secretary of the Centro Studi).

Il progetto prevede la realizzazione di viaggi di istruzione dedicati agli studenti del triennio dei licei del territorio nazionale. I soggiorni, della durata di 5 giorni (lunedì-venerdì), seguiranno un programma di passeggiate didattiche, visite storico-archeologiche e lezioni sul dramma, sulla lingua e sulla civiltà greca antica; l'esperienza sarà completata da un'immersione – guidata da esperti locali – nella cultura, nella lingua, nella musica e nella cucina della Grecia contemporanea.
Le visite e le lezioni si svolgeranno secondo il prospetto sotto riportato e saranno tenute da docenti universitari dell'Università di Torino e dell'Alexandria Institute of Athens (www.alexandria-institute.com); i curriculum degli esperti coinvolti sono reperibili nell'allegato A al presente progetto.
